The Fed is one of Boston’s most stylish and storied cocktail and culinary experiences. Housed in the former Federal Reserve Bank of Boston, The Fed draws inspiration from the building’s inception with dark wood interiors, hand-tufted rugs, shelves lined with Boston banking and cocktail history, and over 90 curated pieces of local art.

From classics to cutting-edge, mixing old and new is the culture at The Fed. Each curated drink is thoughtfully composed to balance flavor, creativity, and presentation.

The menu offers elevated seasonal fare and a variety of shareable plates from locally sourced ingredients that can be enjoyed indoors or on the seasonal Rose Garden Terrace.

WHAT MAKES US DIFFERENT

ART

The Fed is home to over 90 pieces of carefully curated artwork, including 28 specially commissioned pieces, all sourced from The Copley Society, the oldest artistic non-profit association in the U.S. The collection evokes a feeling of warm embrace to patrons and pays homage to the building’s banking history and local heritage.

COCKTAILS

The “Treasury Collection” cocktail menu connects back to the rich Federal Reserve roots of the hotel. Each cocktail ties back to the history and heritage of the countries and regions each currency hails from, utilizing at least two ingredients known to the region in each country. This is complimented by a section dedicated to riffs on the classics for a more recognizable offering.

MEET OUR BAR MANAGER

Joseph Bork Dugan is the Bar Manager at The Fed, where he leads the creation of signature cocktails, curates a rotating selection of local craft beers, and oversees the bar’s daily operations. Joey brings a wealth of experience from his previous role as Beverage Manager at Encore Boston Harbor, a Forbes 5-Star resort and casino, where he managed beverage operations across the casino floor and multiple outlets with a strong focus on hospitality, quality, and service. Prior to that, he served as Assistant Beverage Director at Xenia Greek Hospitality, where he helped launch and manage several acclaimed venues—including Committee, Krasi, Hecate, Bar Vlaha, and Greco—known for their innovative cocktails and modern Greek small plates. Joey’s favorite cocktail is a Ti’ Punch.

“Located near the hotel’s entrance, The Fed is visible enough to draw guests in while still separating patrons from the disturbance of lobby activities. Designers used shelving units with mesh panels to separate the bar and restaurant and create a sense of privacy for diners.”
